Naked Ladies

One of just two species of bulbs within the genus of Amaryllis from the Greek ἀμαρύσσω (Latin amarysso) meaning "to sparkle." Is a native of South Africa. Also known as Naked Lady. Introduced into cultivation at the beginning of the eighteenth century. 
They might require more than three years to mature and flower.

In late summer pink flowers appear on the stems.
